Manipal College of Medical Sciences (MCOMS) Pokhara, Nepal announces admissions to its MBBS degree for the batch commencing in August 2010. The last date for submission of applications is 31st July.

Admissions are based on merit; and to be eligible for this programme applicants should have at least 50% marks in Physics (P), Chemistry (C), Biology (B) and English (E); 50% in put together (PCB & PCBE) and a minimum aggregate of 50% marks at the 10+2 or equivalent examination. MCOMS has been accorded recognition by the Medical Councils of Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Mauritius, besides being accredited by the California Medical Boards & New York State Medical Board. The college is listed in the International Medical Education Directory of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) which holds the United States Medical Licensing Exam. The four and a half years of the MBBS course is divided into nine semesters, each six months in duration.

On successful completion of the 4 ½ year MBBS degree course students will have to undergo one year of compulsory residential rotating internship.

Located in Pokhara, a scenic location 200 km west of Kathmandu, MCOMS functions from two campuses.

The Deep campus spread over 8 acres of wooded land, houses the basic sciences departments, hostels and other facilities for Basic Sciences students.

The 30 acre Phulbari Campus, has the 865 bed Manipal Teaching Hospital (MTH), clinical teaching departments and hostels for clinical students.
