3 HUJI men held for CPB blast Staff Reporter Rapid Action Batalion (RAB) arrested three activists of banned Islamist outfit 'Harkatul Jihad al Islami(Huji) from city's Mohammadpur area yesterday in connection with their involvement in bomb blasts at a rally of Communist Party of Bangladesh in 2001. Mohammad Sohail, director (Legal and Media Wing) told The New Nation yesterday that a team of RAB intelligence wing captured Moulana Md Idris Ali, Moulana Md Abdul Latif and Sakhawat Hossain in Krishi Market area of Mohammadpur following secret information. They also seized a car and six jihadi books from their possession. Five people were killed and around 50 others injured in a bomb atack at a CPB rally at city's Paltan maidan on January 20, 2001. Following the bomb atack, CPB President Manjurul Ahsan Khan filed a case with Motijheel Police Station. Earlier, Criminal Investigation Department arrested Huji leader Mufti Abdul Hannan and several other members for their involvement in the bomb blasts. Moreover, two members of Lasker-e-Taiba of India were also shown arrested in the case and they were taken on remand for interrogation.
