Regional Lions : Leadership Institute programme inaugurated

A three-day Regional Lions Leadership programme was opened here on Thursday with a call for making the best use of time in innovating newer ideas and devising more modern strategies for further raising service to the humanity in distress.

Lions leaders in its inaugural session stressed on the need for further empowering the members of Lions Clubs in terms of both usability and productivity to provide much more service to the people, especially the distressed ones, in society.

Past International Director of the Lions Clubs International Sheikh Kabir Hossain inaugurated the programme at a local hotel in presence of Lions leaders from home and abroad.

With Council Chairperson of Lions Clubs International Multiple District 315 Bangladesh Lion Engineer M Shahjahan Khadem in the chair, the inaugural session was addressed, among others, by Lions A P Singh and Sangeeta Jatia from India, Lion Kazi Akramuddin Ahmed and Lion M Nazmul Haque.

Lion Sheikh Kabir Hossain said various important aspects would come up through interactions during the working sessions of the three-day programme to infuse more dynamism in the method of service to the humanity in Bangladesh and elsewhere of the region.

Lion A P Singh from India described time as the most precious commodity in the present day world and said there must not be any wastage of even a moment when the question of serving the people arises anyway.

"The Regional Lions Leadership Institute will give a very good return in terms of service to the humanity by way of further empowering the members of Lions Clubs here and in other parts of the region," he said.
