Banglalink and BPDB on Wednesday launched mobile-based Electronic Bill Payment Service for BPDB Consumers of Rangpur and Mymensingh Zone.

Dr. Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Bir Bikrom, Adviser to the Prime Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources attended the launching ceremony as chief guest while Brig. Gen. (Retd.), Mohammad Enamul Haque, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources was also present on the occasion as Special Guest.

Amongst others BTRC Chairman Brig. Gen. Zia Ahmed, PSC (Retd.), BPDB Chairman ASM Alamgir Kabir, and Ahmed Abou Doma, CEO, banglalink were also present at the ceremony.

The service will enable Individual Banglalink subscriber to pay the BPDB bill from their own mobile using Bill Payment balance. Consumers can also carry their printed bill to any Banglalink Bill payment point, pays bill and receive money receipt with paid seal and Unique Transaction ID. All BPDB customers can pay their electricity bills either from their own mobile phone or from the banglalink billpay point marked outlets.

This will enable easy, cost-efficient and convenient bill payment service for BPDB electricity consumers with no queues for bill payment. It adds a large number of Bill payment points at consumers' locality and non-banglalink and non-mobile users can also get this benefit by paying bill from the banglalink bill payment point marked outlets.

In the BPDB Mymensingh Zone, the Districts that will be initially covered are Mymensingh, Tangail, Sherpur, Jamalpur, Netrokona and Kishoregonj and in the PDB Rangpur Zone, Rangpur, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Gaibandha, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh districts will be covered.
