Eid-ul-Azha in districts : Faith to religious bond waved all through

The second greatest religious festival of the Muslims, Eid-ul-Azha, was celebrated at Rangpur and the bordering districts on Saturday with due religious fervour, gaiety, solemnity and enthusiasm. The concerned district, upazila and Police administrations took adequate steps and members of Police, Ansar-VDP, RAB, volunteers and other law enforcers were deployed to ensure peaceful celebration thereof.

In Rangpur, the biggest Eid congregation was held at Rangpur Collectorate Eidgah where former President and Jatiya Party Chairman Alhaj HM Ershad, senior political leaders, elite of the city, officials and professionals offered their Eid prayers.

Before prayers, the huge congregation, participated by over 70,000 musallis, was addressed by Alhaj HM Ershad MP, Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur BM Enamul Haque and Mayor of Rangpur pourashava AKM Abdur Rouf Manik.

The other bigger Eid congregations were held at Rangpur Zila School, Police Lines, Damodarpur Baro Maidan, Nasirabad Ekramia Jam-e-Mosque, Alamnagar Barkotia Khanka Sharif, Robertsonsganj Eidgah, Keramotia Mosque, Medical College Mosque, Munshipara Eidgah Math, Rangpur Police Training Centre Jam-e-Mosque, Dhap

Mohammadpur Jame Mosque, Kamal Kachna Baro Jam-e-Masjid, Sadar Hospital Jame Mosque, Shalban Mistripara Koilashranajan Math, Mirbag Ramchandrapur Jame Mosque, Central Bus Terminal Jame Mosque and Mahiganj College ground.

Besides, Eid Jamaats at all upazilas, pourasabhas and rural areas were held with due religious fervour and participation of thousands of musallis with huge enthusiasm from 9:30 am to 11 am this morning.

Similar reports of Eid celebrations were received from Nilphamari, Kurigram, Gaibandha, Lalmonirhat, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Dinajpur, Joypurhat and Naogaon districts. Thousands of Muslims offered special munajats seeking divine blessings and eternal peace of the departed souls, continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the country and Muslim Ummah in all Eid congregations.

National flag was hoisted atop government and private buildings and the mosques, Eidgahs, streets, roadsides and major buildings were illuminated last night and decorated with colourful flags, miniatures and banners inscribed with Eid Mubarak both in Bangla and Arabic.

Improved diets were served to the inmates of different hospitals, jails, Shishu Paribars, orphanages and vagrant welfare centres in all districts on the occasion.
