17 students of B M College died for unnatural causes in last two years

At least 17 meritorious students of Barisal Government Brojo Mohon College died for unnatural causes in last two years. B M College teachers and student sources said that during these years almost every month we were accustomed to observe mourning programmes, including mourning rally and condolence meeting.

On November 15, 2007 Rafiqul Islam, of Bangla Department in Masters course died of falling from tree fall when Hurricane Sidr swept South Bangladesh. Manzurul Islam Rubel of Zoology final year, Jharna and Koli Shikdar of Management Departments committed suicide in 2008.

Shahidul Islam of Economics, Niranjan of Physics, Tanusri Sannayamat and Sumon of Sociology, Albert Shikdar Tota of Mathematics departments died in road accidents during this period. Al- Amin of Social Welfare and Misti of Management departments fell prey to negligence and wrong treatments while Ripon of Management department was stabbed to death by the hijackers on his way to visiting his sister at Savar.

Nazmun Nahar, of Social Welfare department died in boat overturn in the rover due to storm and Sumon of Philosophy department was electrocuted to death at the time of playing cricket.

On August 24, 2009, Jasimuddin Sajib of History department was dro-wned in a in the college pond going to win a bet. Zahirul Islam, Master's final year student of Political Science department died due to alleged mistreatment on November 17, 2009 and Rubel Khan of Sociology department was electrocuted to death on November 20, 2009, sources said.
