1st Arabian Cultural Festival begins November 23 Sheikh Arif Bulbon To make a bridge and focusing cultural exchange between Bangladeshi and Arabian culture, Orenda Communication, event management house, and Nabanritya, dance organisation, in association with different Arabian embassies in Dhaka are going to organise the First Arabian Cultural Festival at Shawkat Osman Auditorium of the Central Public Library at Shahbagh in the city from November 23. Besides presentation of Arabian dance and songs with the performance by country's leading artistes, Arabian films will be also screened during the festival. Ten Arabian films including 'The Colour of Paradise,' 'Children of Heaven,' 'Close Up,' 'Test of Cherry,' 'Baran,' Alibaba Forty Thieves' will be screened in the festival, said Farzana Khan Ela, Convener of the festival organising committee. The three-day festival will be inaugurated by Health related Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr Syed Modasser Ali. Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran and Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Shafique Alam Mehedi will be also present as special guests on the occasion, said the organisers. Bestway Group, Swadesh Properties, Milar Air-conditioner, ICL Group, Founder Laptor and Digital Mobile will sponsor the festival, while Geo News and Radio Foorti are media partners. Festival will be held from 3:00pm to 9:00pm till November 25. Entry fee is Tk 10 for students and Tk 20 for all, said the organisers.
