BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia yesterday felicitated members of Army, Navy and Air Force on the occasion of Armed Forces Day today.

In her message, the Leader of the Opposition recalled the contribution of members of Armed Forces during the war of independence. "The members of our patriotic armed forces are vigilant to protect independence, sovereignty and geographical integrity of the country," she said.

The armed forces members in UN missions abroad have been playing important role in bringing world peace, she added.

She said that Shaheed president Ziaur Rahman had taken many programmes to upgrade the Armed Forces and make it a dynamic, modern and professional force.
