Presidency University made a good start in the Mentors Inter-Private University Football Tournament beating Stamford University by 2-0 goals at the Army Stadium in Banani on Sunday.

The day's other match between Gano University and International University of Business, Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) ended in 1-1 draw at the same venue.

Towhidur Rahman put IUBAT ahead in the 7th minute while Sanwar Hossain scored the equalizer for Gano University in the 68th minute.

Anwar Hossain of IUBAT was adjudged man of the match.

Monday's matches: North South University vs University of Asia Pacific, and Northern University vs BRAC University.
