Pepsi-DRU Cricket begins today UNB, Dhaka The 3rd Pepsi-DRU Inter-House Six-a-Side Cricket Tournament, organized by Dhaka Reporters Unity and sponsored by Transcom Beverage Limited, begins at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium here today. Twenty-nine 29 teams from different print and electronic media, split into eight groups, are taking part in the knockout basis tournament. On the opening day (Monday), UNB news agency will play Dainik Karotoa and Daily Manabzamin will meet Bangladesh Samoy, both at 9:00am, on separate grounds. DRU President Shamim Ahmed disclosed the details at a press conference at the DRU auditorium yesterday. Executive Director of meet's sponsor Transcom Beverage Limited Golam Quddus Chowdhury Babu, DRU general secretary Pathik Saha, DRU sports secretary M Mohiuddin Palash and tournament secretary Monwar Haque also spoke on the occasion. Participating teams: Group A - Daily Star, Karotoa and UNB; Group B - Channel 1, Financial Express, Sangram and Ittefaq; Group C - Independent, INB and Amar Desh; Group D - Samakal, Banglabazar Patrika, Manabzamin and Bangladesh Samoy; Group E - Bangla Vision, Destiny, New Age and Amader Samoy; Group F - New Nation, Bhorer Dak, Naya Diganta and Baishakhi TV; Group G - Diganta TV, Janapad, Inquilab and Kalerkantha; and Group H - Arthaniti, Jugantor and BSS.
