A group of rowdy people brutally clubbed farmer Sader Ali from village Golahar under Khetlal upazila in the district and cropped hair of his headand then sent to the local hospita. But leg being fractured; he was shifted to Bogra General Hospital for better treatment.

It is learnt that Sader Ali on November 4 started for the local cold storage with the view to take delivery of potato preserved thereinto. On the way a lady intercepted him and guided to her father's house at Shakharunj village.

As soon as they reached there, a group of felons brought against him false charge of illicit relations with the lady and demanded taka one hundred thousand as ransom.

As Sader refused to submit, they fell on him, snatched the mobile set and cash of taka 12,000. They also snatched the delivery card of 50 maund of potatos. Finally they cropped his head’s hair.

Residential Medical Officer Sushanat Kumar of Khetlal Hospital said that his leg had been swelled due to severe beating. And there was pain in his chest as well. So, he needed intensive treatment to recover from injuries. Local UP Chairman Khalilur Rahman said that the story of immoral activities against Sader Ali was contrived.

Sub Inspector Belal Hossain of Khetlal Thana said, necessary steps would be taken subject to the investigation. And about the lady in question, on condition of anonymity some villagers said, she was of doubtful character.
