2 outlaws held with 8 bombs in Kushtia

Detective Branch of police, in a drive on Saturday night, arrested two outlaws along with eight powerful bombs at Shantidanga village in Sadar upazila.

The arrested were identified as Moyen Uddin, 43, son of Yusuf Mollah of Piarpur village under Islami University thana and Emdadul Huq, 38, son of Erad Ali of Zugipara Mathurapur village in Shailakupa upazila of Jhenidah district. Both are cadres of bomb squad of banned outfit Gana Bahini.

Acting on secret information, police conducted the drive at about 11:45pm while 7-8 outlaws were holding a clandestine meeting at a banana orchard of the village. Sensing their presence while the outlaws were fleeing the scene the law enforcers after a hot chase caught the two along with the bombs.

A case was filed against them under Explosives Act.
