At least 30 people were injured in a fierce clash between two groups at Lama Chhampur village in Jointapur upazila on Thursday.

Local Sources said Sirajul Islam of Aman group and Shahidur Rahman of Zuai group locked into altercation over a trifling matter while an 'Islami Jalsha' (religious gathering) was going on at the village at about 1:00am.

Later, both the groups equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other, leaving 30 people injured from both sides.

Of the injured, 17 people were admitted to the upazila health complex. Tension was prevailing in the area.
