5 killed in Bagerhat encounters in 6 weeks UNB, Bagerhat Five outlaws and forest pirates were killed in separate encounters with police during the drives in the district in last six weeks. Besides, over 1000 criminals, including 36 terrorists and JMB militants, were arrested during the period. Sources said police conducted the drives in nine upazilas of the district and arrested them. Of the arrested, 11 were of Purbo Banglar Communist Party (Janajuddha-Lal Potaka), 22 of listed criminals and two members of Jama'tul Mujahideen Bangladesh. The terrorists killed in the gunfights were identified as Altaf Hossain, 38, Mizanur Rahman Mizan, 35, Fosiar Rahman Sanu, Masud, 32, and Alam Khan, 36.
