Eminent writer Hasnat Abdul Hye will inaugurate the exhibition titled 'Silk Painting' being organised by artist Nilufar Momen. More than 200 students, aged between seven and eleven, of the Thomas Buxton Junior School participated in the project organised by Nilufar Momen to select the paintings for the show. Nilufar Momen, also worked as an art teacher in the London school, said, "All the two hundred artworks are important to us, but we have tried to display the comparatively better ones." While mentioning about the artworks, she said, "The children had drawn birds, butterflies, sky, flowers, cars, houses and natural scenes as they see them. The children have interestingly used vibrant colours of the nature in presenting their observations. They have, virtually, presented a vibrant and colourful world that will soothe the viewers irrespective of age and professions." Main aim of the exhibition is to create enthusiasm about paintings among the children in Bangladesh. The talents of the children can be nourished through their extracurricular activities, Nilufar mentioned. The exhibition remains open for all from 3:00pm to 8:00pm till November 10.
