A court here on Thursdday sentenced five persons to life term imprisonment for murdering a person three years ago.

The convicts were identified as Gazi Habib, Alauddin, Kalachand, Dulal and Zaker.

The court also fined them Tk 50,00 each, in default to suffer three years more in prison.

According to prosecution story, the convicts killed a night guard named Iqbal Hossain of Mohammadi brick field at Akbarnagar under Fatullah Police station on October 25, 2006.

Iqbal came under the attacks of the convicts as he protested their gambling at the brick field on the fateful night.

Salimullah, owner of the brick field filed a murder case with Fatullah police station on the following day.

Additional district and Sessions Judge Jalaluddin after examining the witness pronounced the verdict.
