Prime Minister's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad was on Thursday admitted to the LabAid Hospital in the city with heart ailment.

He is now in the coronary care unit (CCU) of the hospital and under treatment of cardiologist Prof Sohrab uz Zaman.

Talking to BSS, Dr Sohrab said Azad underwent coronary engioplasty and stenting in the hospital and he will be under observation for 72 hours.

The doctor said he is out of danger and asked well-wishers not to rush to the hospital for the sake of his early recovery.
