Over Tk 25 crore were spent per month to operate the organisational activities of the banned Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), RAB sources said.

JMB chief Maulana Saidur Rahman's, second wife Nurunnahar Himu told the Task Force for Interrogation (TFI) cell that every member of the JMB used to get handsome amount of money from the financial department every month. The financial department of the JMB is assigned to keep accounts

of expenditure of all active JMB members, RAB came to know. However, RAB could not detect anything about the sources of the money.

RAB recovered documents from Himu which showed the financial statement of the monthly expenditure of 25 members. This documents showed that they spent TK 1 crore in eight months. Harun alone spent Tk 1 lakh 98 thousand in last January. Another member Nazrul also spend about Tk 1 lakh 44 thousand in one month. RAB sources said.

According to RAB, at least 5000 JMB members were active across the country. If only 25 members used Tk one crore that way 5000 members oparative need more Tk 25 crore. The married members of the JMB got TK 12,000 to 20,000 each and unmarried members were sanctioned Tk 7,000 to 8,000 each per month.

JMB members did not operate any bank account but all transactions were made through their internal network.

RAB started a manhunt to capture the chief of banned militant organisation, Maulana Saidur Rahman and his son Bashar following information gathered from Saidur's detained wife.

Former Habiganj district Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Saidur Rahman has been working as JMB Ameer and his son Abu Talha Mohammad Fahim alias Bashar as the coordinator since the execution of erstwhile JMB chief Abdur Rahman and five other leaders in 2007.

Saidur's wife Nurunnahar Himu told RAB men that her husband and his son Abu Talha Mohammad Fahim alias Bashar, the JMB coordinator, have been staying in the house for last four to five months while operating JMB activities.

Nurunnahar's father is also a JMB Member and a madrasa teacher. Nurunnahar completed Fazil course from a Dinajpur madrasa and came in contact with Saidur while travelling to Dhaka together with her father. Finally it ended in a marriage one year ago.
