A Bangladeshi citizen was injured in firing by Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) on Bhurungamari frontier in Kurigram district in the early hours of Monday, BDR sources said the victim, identified as Hossain Ali, 24, suffered critical injury in the attack and later admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

The BDR has sent a letter to its counterpart BSF protesting the incident. BDR and local people said the BSF opened five round bullets targeting Hossain Ali without any provocation.

Hossain, son of Nur Hossain Munshi of Vothat village, went the demarcation line to respond to the call nature at the time of occurrence.
