The arrest of Mohiuddin, chief of recently banned Hizb ut-Tahrir and a teacher of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University (DU), now depends on the decision of DU Syndicate scheduled to be held today.

DU Vice Chancellor Prof AAMS arefin Siddique told reporters yesterday that the matter would be placed in today's Syndicate meeting.

He said, "We are observing the matter". "Decision may come out from the today's meeting in this regard", he added.

Mohiuddin is now under close surveillance of law enforcers after the government banned his party on Thursday last. Police surrounded his residence at the Green Road area in the city.
