Legal reforms needed for remedy: ACC becomes toothless tiger, says Chairman
Staff Reporter

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) which had chased mighty and influential graft suspects out into jails during the military-backed Caretaker Government has now turned into a "toothless tiger" for its weak legal weapons to fight in trial process, Chairman of ACC Golam Rahman lamented.

Rahman, who recently took the charge of the anti-corruption body after the unceremonious departure of former chief of army staff Lt Gen (rtd) Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury, said the ACC cannot function properly due to weaknesses in the legal process.
