Faridpur District team and Dhaka District team won their respective matches of the Diamond Melamine First National Rugby Competition on Sunday.

In the day's first match, Faridpur District team eased past Bagerhat District team by 22-3 points at the Outer Stadium in Paltan Maidan.

The winners led the first half by 8-3 points.

In the day's second match, Dhaka District team defeated Narail District team by 11-5 points at the same venue.

The victorious team had a 3-0 lead in the first session.

Earlier, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Youth and Sports Ministry Zahid Ahsan Russel MP inaugurated the rugby meet yesterday as the chief guest while Managing Director of the Diamond Melamine Industries Private Limited Md Moktar Hossain was along with him as the special guest.

General Secretary of Bangladesh Rugby Association Mousum Ali, Chairman of the organizing Committee Mohiuddin Ahmed. Secretary of the Organising Committee Bashir Ahmed were present at the time.
