Kuwait relief committee distributes relief among Aila-hit people

The Kuwait Joint Relief Committee(KJRC) has distributed relief goods among 2,000 families of affected by cyclone Ail in Satkhira, Bagerhat and Khulna recently.

The relief items include 27 tons of rice, nine tons of potato, 1,800 kilograms of pulse, 3,600 kilogram salt, 1,800 liter soybean oil and 9,000 oral saline packets.

Every was given a packed of 15 kgs rice, 5 kgs potato, 2 kgs salt, one liter soybean oil, one kg pulse and 5 packs of saline.

The relief goods were distributed among Aila hit people of Shyamnagar of Satkhira, Morelganj of Bagerhat and Koira of Khulna district.

The relief distribution was supervised by Secretary General of KJRC headquarters in Kuwait Foisal Osman Al-Giran, officer Abdul Hamid Al-Obaed, Officer in-charge of the foreign offices Nasser Al-Said and deputy director general of KJRC Bangladesh office Gazi Mohammad Zahirul Islam.

The organization will distribute relief goods among 3,000 families of Aila hit people in other coastal districts under its 'Programme for Emergency relief Operation for Disaster Victims' and approve by Bangladesh NGO bureau. The KJRC will also build 100 houses and install ten deep tube wells in Ail affetd areas. Deputy director of the Bangladesh office of the organization said the programme will be expanded in future on availability of funds.
