Newly formed central committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of BNP, urged the Dhaka University (DU) authority to create a friendly environment for all party-students on the campus ensuring co-existence in the dormitories.

They made the call while they met Vice Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique in a courtesy call at the latter's office yesterday.

During the meeting, they also demanded long desired DUCSU (Dhaka University Central Students Union) election, which would uphold students` rights. The VC assured the committee to fulfil their demands seeking their help to keep the university's atmosphere stable.

Prof Arefin said, " I am personally so interested in DUCSU election because it helps the students to be diversified ones and to be national and international figures."

But, said the VC it would need time to prepare ground to hold DUCSU election, which has been stopped for more than one and a half decade.

JCD president Sultan Salah Uddin Tuku, general secretary Amirul Islam Alim, senior vice president Shahidul Islam Babul, joint secretary Amiruzzaman Khan Shimul and organising secretary Anisur Rahman Khakon, among others, were present during curtsey call.
