Drug abuse can cause a wide variety of adverse physical reactions. Long-term drug use may damage the heart, liver, and brain. Drug abusers may suffer from malnutrition if they habitually forget to eat, cannot afford to buy food, or eat foods lacking the proper vitamins and minerals. Individuals who abuse inject able drugs risk contracting infections such as hepatitis and HIV from dirty needles or needles shared with other infected abusers. One of the most dangerous effects of illegal drug use is the potential for overdosing-that is, taking too large or too strong a dose for the body's systems to handle. A drug overdose may cause an individual to lose consciousness and to breathe inadequately. Without treatment, an individual may die from a drug overdose. Drug abuse can create the following bed impacts on our national life.

Social disorganization: Social disorganization are the out-come of unstable condition. Drugs certainly degrade the social conformity and thus social disorganization happens. Various social problems are the outcome of this social disorganization.

Younger generation prevails on vulnerable position: As the children are curious to the forbidden things and so if the users increase in a large scale the availability of drug will increase; thus the children will be in vulnerable position who may be interested to the drugs for new adventure.

Economic loss: Drugs are associated with illegal money. People, who are addicted to drugs, have to spend a big portion of their income for the drug. This is the loss of the state and the persons who are addicted to it. As a result family spending increases and the state economy is hampered. Lost of skilled human resource: Drug addicted persons are not able to render his best service to the society for various reasons. Thus the state system can not be developed as the human resource can not be used properly.

Thus the most important component of society becomes ineffective. Criminal tendency breaks out: Drugs change persons completely and for this reason he lost his power to differentiate between right and wrong. In this situation he may do anything he wishes to get pleasure. As a result criminal tendency breaks out among persons.

Productivity deteriorates: People associating with drugs can not show their productivity as they could in the general time. Thus the productivity of the persons is reduced and the development of the state is hindered.

State control becomes fragile: Citizens are the most important components of modern state system. There are three essential virtues those the citizens of a country should have which are intellect, conscience and self control. As the intoxicated persons may not be the carrier of these virtues so, they may not obey their responsibilities those state desires from them. The ultimate result is the state control towards citizens (and the state system as well towards citizens) becomes fragile.

Religious values discarded: The institutions which can control human being among them religion is the most ancient and effective. Due to the abuse of drug the violation of religious values can start which can keep people away from the religious practice. This condition is not good for the mankind. Thus, due to the drug abuse religious values are discarded from the society and society becomes more vulnerable.

Norms and values disrupted: Norms and values are the unique characteristics of human being. Whenever these collapses the social cohesion declines.Drugs are such harmful elements which have the power to destroy the social harmony of norms and values which results various unexpected events.

Drunk-driven accidents occur: Many accidents in the world are occurred as the driving of the vehicle by dunked persons. This can be very much harmful for the person who is victimized and the family of the deceased or injured person. As the drunkenness of the driver is the main cause of such accidents so for the addiction of drugs many people can suffer.

Problems faced by health care system and criminal justice agencies: Government has to spend a lot to make the law enforcing agencies aware with the drug related crimes. This needs a lot of money to spend. Beside this many health care organizations have to work to treat the victims of drugs or victimized people by drug addicted. This consumes a lot of money. Thus drug addiction bound the government to spend for it against the state's will.

Arms and other illegal business become healthy: there is a proverb that weapon, wine and wealth prevail together.

So, to earn quick money smugglers do drug business. To conduct the drug business they also use weapons and also do business with weapons. In this context arms and other illegal business become healthy.

>From the above discussion it is proved that the effects of drugs on personal and national life are very harmful. So, necessary steps should be taken by the law enforcing agencies and the government to prevent drug abuse.
