Railway police arrested three alleged gunrunners along with an Indian pistol from the rail station area here on Thursday noon.

The arrested were identified as Abdul Wahab, son of Manik Bhuiyan of Bagda village of Abhoynagar upazila, Nesar Gazi, son of Amit Ali Gazi of Abadchandipur village in Shyamnagar upazila and Hamid Biswas, son of Dulu Biswas of Khazura village in Ashashuni upazila.

Police said they challenged the three for their suspicious movement in the station area and recovered the pistol from Hamid's possession.

On interrogation, they confessed that they came to the town to sell the pistol. A case was filed.
