Dhaka WASA has raised its price of water by 5 percent form today.

As per the new rate the residential clients have to pay Tk 6.4 instead of Tk 5. 75 for consumption of per thousand-litre water.

The commercial and industrial clients have to pay Tk 20.11 instead of Tk 19.15 as charge of one thousand-litre water.

Engineer Dr Golam Mostafa, chairman of Dhaka WASA Board on Friday announced the increased price of water while he was practically surveying water problem at Dhaka Housing at Shyamoli in the city.

Md Shahjahan Ali Molla, Managing Director of Dhaka WASA said that the new water rate would come to force from today.

"Dhaka WASA spends Tk 7 for supplying per thousand litre water to its clients," he said.
