At least 10 people were injured in a clash between the activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal over establishing supremacy and admission of students at Tongi Government College on Thursday.

Sources said the BCL activists ransacked the college on Wednesday over a dispute on admission of students in the college.

In a sequel to the incident, the JCD activists gathered on the campus on Thursday morning triggering a clash between the two rival student fronts injuring 10 people.

Chase and a counter chase took place between them and at one stage it spread to the nearby Dhaka-Mymensingh highway suspending vehicular movement for about half an hour.

The unruly students also vandalized a couple of vehicles.
