The biennial election of Narail Press Club was held at its Bhaban here on Saturday.

Advocate Md Alamgir Siddique (Daily Ocean) and Enamul Kabir Tuku (BTV) were elected President and General Secretary respectively of the 15-member new executive committee for 2009- 10.

Thirty-four members out of 35 of the Club cast their votes for electing 13 out of 15 members of the executive committee as two others were elected unopposed.

Other office-bearers of the newly-elected executive committee are: vice presidents - Advocate Abdul Haque (News Today) and Md Atiur Rahman (Inqilab), Joint Secretaries Sazzad Hossain Tipu (Jugantor) and Tarikuzzaman Litu (Ittefaq), Treasurer - Gobinda Kundu (Ajker Kagoj), Office Secretary - Proddut Mukherjee (Ranar), Sports, Cultural and Education Secretary - Masum Billah (Sam-achar) and executive members Sha-mimul Islam Tulu (Shamokal), Mirza Nazrul Islam (Channel-1), SM Halim Montu (Bhorer Dak) Munir Chowdhury (ntv), Rifat (Janakantha) and Kazi Hafizur Rahman (Dai-nik Tathya).
