Bahauddin Nasim acquitted in sedition case Court Correspondent Sechcha-Sebak League President Bahauddin Nasim was acquitted yesterday in a sedition case. Judge Ismail Hossain of the Additional Sessions Judge's Fourth Court of Dhaka pronounced the verdict in presence of a large number of Awami League leaders and activists. Hearing the Judgement Bahauddin Nasim expressed his satisfaction. In the case on March 11, 2001 Nasim was arrested from Zia International Airport, on the eve of his departure for abroad from Bangladesh. The police recovered some photographs and CDs from Nasim, CID's ASP Dulal Uddin Akand filed the case against Nasim with Cantonment Thana of the city, while another CID ASP Munshi Atiqur Rahman completed inquiry and submitted the charge sheet of the case. In the trial process the Court recorded the depositions of eight witnesses. However, as the prosecution failed to prove the charge against Bahauddin Nasim, the Judge acquitted him.
