Syed Altaf at Mehendiganj: Reporting should not be stopped for fear of anybody

One should not retreat from publishing any fact for fear of anybody. Realistic news could help a nation to reach the zenith of successful, many things depends upon publishing of a fact. As such, no one should retreat from reporting a fact for fear of anybody, said the General Manager of the daily The New Nation. On the occasion of 2nd Founding Year of Mehendiganj Reporters Unity on Saturday last, at a discussion meeting arranged at the Hall-room of Ekota College, he said this as the Chief Guest.

Syed Altaf further said that, the present Government have taken various initiatives in the interest of the journalists to work for themselves freely. Praising the activities of the Mehendiganj Reporters Unity, Syed Altaf also moreover said that, if there were such organisations, fear of torture on the journalists becomes loss. He asked the journalists to be dare and dauntless, and not to bow down to anybody, as never there were stopped publishing the realistic news, and never will be stopped. He demanded trial of the terrorist attack on journalist Momin, and he further said that trial and action must be taken, otherwise, the terrorists will be encouraged to attack on the journalists again and again. The function was conduct by the Member-Secretary Md. Enayet Hossain. Among others were present: M Russel Kabir, Md Sujon Sikder, Sirajul Islam Howlader, Asaduzzaman Khawja, Abul Kashem Meer, Farid Hossain Khan, BM Fazle Rabbi, Master Md Asaduzzaman Sikder.
