A four-day surgery camp for cleft lips and cleft palates children was organised by Bangladesh Society for Rehabilitation of Burn Victims(SRBV) and Diabetic Hospital, Thakurgaon from June 3.

The camp was led by eminent plastic surgeon and the department head of Sir Salimullah Medical College Plastic Surgey unit, Prof. Dr. Shahidul Bari and his team. The event was coordinated by Dr. ASM Nurullah Awal.

Over 100 patients got clinical consultation and 52 surgeries were performed. The camp coordinator Dr. Awal said there were thousands of CLAP patients in Thakurgaon and Panchagarh districts and they need surgery , but cannot avail the surgery due to extreme poverty. This camp was organised to support this poor patients, he said. The district administration extended support to the camp and deputy commission of the district Munshi Shahabuddin Ahmed, civil surgeon of Thajurgaon Dr. Amzad Hossain, Pourasava Mayor Shahed Kamal Chowdhury provided support to the team.
