Awami League lawmaker Tipu Munshi's son Apu Munshi (25) died at a city hospital soon after his admission there on Friday night with bullet wounds.

Police quoting family sources said Apu has been suffering from mental depression and he might have shot himself with his father's revolver.

Bullet hit Apu was taken to the United Hospital from their Uttara residence where the doctors declared him dead.

Family sources said late at Friday night Apu was shouting in his room which was bolted from within. Hearing his shouts, family members pleaded with him to open the door. When the efforts to persuade Apu to open the door failed the desperate family members tried to break it. At this stage Apu shot himself with his father's licensed revolver and his body found in a pool of blood. Later police and Rab visited the house.

He was buried at the Banani graveyard yesterday afternoon.

After completing his study at the Uttara High Scool Apu went to Singapore for higher education. He returned home from his visit to the United States and Canada only a few days ago, according to family sources.
