A storm swept over Sadar upazila on Thursday night, killing a minor boy and injuring about 50 people.

According to the district administration, the whirlwind hit upazila at about 10pm and lasted for an hour.

Sajan, 4, son of Abdur Rashid of Boulai Dakshin Rajkunti village under Boulai union, was killed as a tree fell on his house during the storm.

The strong wind also razed a large number of dwelling houses to the ground, leaving 50 people injured.

Huge trees were uprooted and banana orchards and jute also damaged bythe storm.
