Speakers at a commemorating meeting of Nuclear scientist Dr. MA Wazed Ali Miah and husband of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said his admirable moral character and spirit of self-sacrifice is essential for the development of modern science education and the nation.

Organized by the Science Club of Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) held at the TSC conferece hall, the speakers highly praised his great efforts in the field of science education and research in Bangladesh.

Presided over by Prof. Dr. Fazlul Awal Mollah, president, Science Club, Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof. Dr. MA Sattar Madal was the chief guest while Vice-Chancellor of Dinajpur Hajee Mohammad danesh university of Science and technology Prof. Dr. M. Afzal Hossain delivered the keynote speech at the meeting.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mandal expressed his sincere commemoration on behalf of the University and recalled great contributions Dr. Wazed made in the field of nuclear science education and research.

In his keynote speech HDUST Vice-Chancellor Dr. Afzal reminisced the life and outstanding achievements of Dr, Wazed Mia.

Former vice-chancellor of BAU Prof. Dr. Akhter Hossain, prof. SM Bulbul, Prof. Dr. G. Golam Shahi Alam, Prof. Dr. Khandaker Shariful Islam, Prof. Dr. Sultan Uddin Bhuyian, Prof. Dr. M Rafiqul Haque, Abdul Khaleque, president BAU officer Parishad, Atiquzzaman Royal, general secretary Bangladesh Chattra League, BAU branch spoke at the meeting.

The meeting also condoled the death of Dr. MA Wazed Miah and expressed deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
