Sajib Wazed Joy offered fateha at the mazar of his father, Dr Wazed Miah, at Fatehpur village here yesterday (Saturday) and sought blessings of Almighty Allah for the departed soul.

He also placed wreaths at the grave at about 11:10am.

Joy urged the local people to pray for his late father who died on May 9 at Square Hospital in Dhaka.

His uncle, Maulana Abdul Khaleque Miah, received Joy when he arrived here by road. Joy's cousins Shahadat Hossain Bakul and Tajimul Islam Shamim and Sayed Reza Shanto were present.

State Ministers Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Tanjim Ahmed Sohel Taj, Sheikh Helal, MP, Whip Mirza Azam, MP, Khaled Mahmud Chowdhury, MP, Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP, Tanvir Shakil Joy, MP, central AL leader SM Kamal Hossain and Prime Minister's deputy press secretary Mahbubul Hoque Shakil accompanied Joy.

Abul Kalam Azad, MP, Monwar Hossain Chowdhury, MP and Convener of district Awami League Monsur Ahmed were also present.

Joy also said Zohr prayers at the mosque nearby their house and attended a milad mahfil arranged seeking divine blessings for salvation of the departed soul of Dr Wazed Miah.
