Mahela Udawatta hits century: Sri Lanka Dev Squad make 306 for 3 on day one UNB, Dhaka Visiting Sri Lanka Development Squad scored a comfortable 306 runs for 3 in 91 overs against GP-BCB National Cricket Academy team on the first day of the 2nd four day match at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Ruhul Amin Stadium in Chittagong on Sunday. Batting first after winning the toss, Sri Lanka made a good start scoring 72 runs in the first wicket stand, added 80 runs in the 2nd wicket partnership and piled up 150 in the 3rd wicket stand to make a solid foundation for the team in the first innings. They scored 92 for one at lunch and made 206 for 2 at tea. Opener Mahela Udawatta was in batting with 122 runs featuring 17 fours and one six, Number four Gihan Rupasinghe contributed 94 runs with nine fours and four sixes, another opener Kanchana Gunawardene made 41 runs hitting five fours and one down Lahiru Thirimanne scored 36 with two fours and three sixes. Saqlain Sajib claimed two Lankan wickets for 68 runs while Marshall Ayub took the other wicket for 21 runs. In the first four-day match, Sri Lanka Development Squad earned a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over Bangladesh National Academy team that concluded on the third day at the same venue last week.
