Govt should be cautious about bailout packages: WB UNB, Dhaka
World Bank country director for Bangladesh Xian Zhu yesterday said the government should be cautious in responding to the requests for bailout amid worldwide recession.
He made the comment at a workshop for the Economic Correspondents on 'State of Bangladesh Economy and Policy Response to the Global Financial Crisis' held at the World Bank, Dhaka office.
"The government has received requests for different kinds of bailout packages. In deciding how to respond to these requests, it'll be important to keep in mind that the government is in resource constraint and, therefore, the tradeoffs would have to be made," Xian Zhu said.  |
