An Ad-hoc Committee has been formed for the creation of a new trade body by the name of "Bangladesh Furniture Exporters Association", a press release said.

Amer Karim, Managing Director of Legacy Furniture Company Ltd is the convener of the Ad-hoc Committee. Other members of the Ad-hoc Committee are representatives of the largest furniture manufacturers of Bangladesh.

The first meeting of the Ad-hoc Committee will be held on April 7 at 4:30 p.m. at the offices of Bangladesh Furniture Owners Association. This new trade body will be formed with a view to organise Bangladeshi furniture manufacturers for export under an umbrella to advocate policies with various government bodies to facilitate furniture exports from Bangladesh.
