Liberation War Museum has taken a huge responsibility to introduce the new generation about the history of Liberation War. As a part of this activity the museum authority has taken a week-long prog-rammes including cultural functions to observe the Independence Day on March 26 and also to celebrate the 13th founding anniversary of the museum.

The week-long programmes were inaugurated at the museum premises at Segunbagicha in the city on March 22.

Chief of Public Affairs of the Extra Ordinary Chambers in the Court of Cambodia and internationally reputed researcher and writer Dr Helen Jarvis gave the memorial speech at the inaugural day. Her topic of the speech was 'Justice delayed need not mean justice denied."

Trustee of the museum Ziauddin Tarique Ali gave the welcome speech. Annual report of the activities of the museum was read out by member secretary of the museum Mofidul Haque.

A week-long book fair was also inaugurated on that day. Trustee of the museum Sarwar Ali was also present on the occasion.

Speakers hoped that next year the museum will take its place on its own land in Agargaon.

Later, dance artistes of Dhrupad Kala Kendra presented dance performance directed by Shukla Sarkar. Veteran artiste Ajit Roy and Suhana Ahmed rendered songs at the inaugural day.

Yesterday, on Monday, documentary on the Liberation War screened. Inauguration of the Documentary Forum was also held there.

Today (Tuesday) a discussion on 'International Crimes Tribunal Act (1973) and Justice Procedure' will be held. Then a website based on statements of the eyewitness of the Liberation War will be inaugurated. Students of Fatulla Pilot High School, Paharpur Indigenous High School of Naogaon and Notredame College will perform in the cultural function.
