JS reserved seats: AL-led alliance names 36 women candidates Staff Reporter Bangladesh Awami League led grand alliance yesterday nominated 36 candidates to contest of the reserved seats for women in parliament. The nominees started collecting their nomination forms from AL president Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi office from 4pm Monday. "The candidates can collect the nomination forms till 12 noon tomorrow (Tuesday)," said a press release. Awami League's joint general secretary and party spokesperson Syed Ashraful Islam asked the nominees to fill up the forms enclosed with a treasury challan of Tk 10,000 and submit them at the Dhanmondi office by 2pm on March 11. Amena Ahamed [Comilla], 13. Chemon Ara Taiyab [ Chittagong], 14. Ethin Rakhain [Cox's Bazaar], 15. Farida Rahman [ Narail], 16. Noor Afroze Ali [ Khulna- Bagerhat], 17. Sadhana Halder [Pirojpur], 29. Professor Jinnatunnessa Talukder [ Rajshahi ], 30. Principal Kahdiza Kahtoon Shefali [ Bogra], 31. Shefali Momtaz [ Natore], 32. Sawkat Ara Begum [ Chapainawabganj], 33. Farida Rahman Hira, [Panchagarh], 34. Ahmed Nazmeen Sultana [Najli], [Kurigram], 35. Alhaj Momtaj Begum [ Munshiganj] and 36. Parveen Talukder Maya [Barisal]. A total of 784 candidates sought nominations and the Awami League Parliamentary Board headed by party president and chief of the alliance Sheikh Hasina finalised the list of 36 candidates.
