Early trial of war criminals demanded

Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad at a meeting yesterday demanded starting of trial of the war criminals by constituting special tribunal immediately.

There is no place for the war criminals in the country which was liberated with a sea of blood of three million people, leaders of the Sangsad told the meeting, arranged on the occasion of its 37th founding anniversary.

Chairman of the Sangsad Principal Ahad Chowdhury presided over the meeting, where its vice-chairmen Sultan Ahmed Raza and Iqbal Hossain, acting secretary general Monwar Haque Khan Lavlu, central leaders Mozammel Hossain Helal, Shafiqul Bahar Mazumder Tipu, Abdul Kahar Akhand and commanders of different district units addressed.

Demanding immediate execution of the killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Principal Ahad Chowdhury said, freedom fighters would continue their work together to materialize the dream of the Father of the Nation and build Digital Bangladesh by 2021, which is the vision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He said, a vested quarter is hatching conspiracy to try to create division among the leaders of the freedom fighters centering Muktijoddha Sangsad but their plot will be foiled like the past.

Earlier, leaders of Muktijoddha Sangsad, Amra Muktijoddhar Santan and Muktijoddha Jubo Command led by Principal Ahad Chowdhury placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Bangabandhu Museum in Dhanmondi.
