A discussion meeting on 'Opening of the new horizon in films' was held at the Fazlul Haque Memorial Auditorium of Manna Digital Complex at BFDC in the city on Monday.

MP and Presidium Member of Awami League Amir Hossain Amu was present as chief guest at the function, while Director of Drama and Film Department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Shafi Kamal and Managing Director of BFDC ANM Badrul Amin, spoke as special guests in the meeting.

Filmmaker Rafiquzzaman, Golam Kibria, film researcher Anupam Hayat, President of Bangladesh Journalists' Welfare Association Reduwan Khondaker, also spoke on the occasion. Salam Mahmud moderated the programme.

Film 'The Search' based on the story of Hollywood was screened later.

Iftekhar Chowdhury has directed the film, while MA Jalil has produced it. Sushmoy Sumon has written story and dialogue of the film. He has scripted it. It is mentioned that three models Ananta, Borsha and Boby have performed in the film for the first time. For the first time Italian actor Nino have performed in a Bangladeshi film. Therefore, Sohel Rana, Ezazul Islam, Ilias Javed, Sohel Khan, Shirin Bakul, Ilias Kobra, Rasheda Chowdhury, Raha, Swadhin Khasru, Apu Hasan, Jisan, among others, have performed in the film. Kabir Bakul has written lyrics of the songs of the film and Emon Saha has directed the music composition. SI Tutul, Bappa Majumder, Samina Chowdhury, Asif and Sadia Benzir gave vocals for the songs.
