Still nurturing his ambition Jatiya Party chairman HM Ershad yesterday said he would become the country's president anytime.

"My brother has become a minister. I'll become the president any day as it was promised by Sheikh Hasina," Ershad told a party meeting at Post office para. He advised the party men to have patience.

"I've proved myself as the most popular leader by returning to parliament from three constituencies, bagging the maximum number of votes," said the former Army Chief who ruled the nation with iron hand for nearly nine years.
