Event: Photography show on Gunijan ends

A five-day digital biography and photography exhibition titled '2nd Digital Biography and Photography Exhibition' featuring portraits of the eminent personalities ended at the La Gallerie Alliance Francaise de Dacca in the city on January 10. Volunteer organisation Gunijan organised the show.

A total of 55 portraits of the noted personalities, including Zainul Abedin, Quamrul Hassan, Abdul Alim, late poet Shamsur Rahman, Gaziul Haque, Mortaza Basheer, Obayed Ul-Haque, Anisuzzaman, Feroza Begum, Kumudini Hajong and Abdullah Abu Sayeed were on display at the show that was inaugurated on January 6.

Country's first woman photographer Sayeeda Khanam inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest, while eminent human rights activist Dr Hamida Hossain chaired the inaugural session.

Rangalal Sen, Qayyum Chowdhury, Rahiza Kha-nam Jhunu, Shamim Ara Tully, Sufia Ahmed, Mustafa Monwar, Dwijen Sharma, Sukumar Barua, Sohrab Hossain, Masiu-ddin Shaker, Morshedul Islam, Mamunur Rashid, educationist Sardar Fazlul Karim, film director Chashi Nazrul Islam, among others, were present at the inauguration. Urmi Lohani, Coordinator of Gunijan, said that the exhibition featured the portraits of the eminent personalities. The show would help the young generation to know about them and their works. People would have some information of noted personalities who had contributed a lot to the nation building, she added.

Urmi said, "We organise the show to introduce the country's best souls who have been inspired us through their works. More than 1000 names of eminent personalities are stored in our archive and we will disclose their names and works phase by phase."
