Event: Praner Khela at Bengal Shilpalaya

Bengal Foundation has been working to promote Bengali songs for the last 20 years. As a part of the continuation of the activities of the Foundation it organised a musical session titled 'Praner Khela' at the Bengal Shilpalaya in Dhanmondi in the city on January 10.

Eastern Bank Ltd sponsored the musical soiree.

In the first part of the musical session, artistes Milon Bhattacharya, Md Moniruzzaman and Ratan Kumar Roy presented 'Taalbadyo,' while in the second part, artiste Chandana Majumder rendered folk songs.

A huge number of music lovers gathered and enjoyed flavour of the pure Bengali songs in show.

Death anniversary of Ustad Hasan Ali Khan today

The 16th death anniversary of artiste of Bangl-adesh Betar and Television and music composer and director Ustad Hasan Ali Khan is today, January 12. He was also a former teacher of Bulbul Lalitokala Academy (BAFA), Suravi Sangeet Niketan and Jahangirnagar University Music School. On observance of the day, different organisations will arrange various programmes.

Musical Evening at Dish and Desert

A musical evening was held at the restaurant 'Dish and Desert' at Banani in the city on January 9. Band group 'Accoustica' performed at the function. They performed cover songs of different bands with acoustic composition, which melodiously entertained the guests. The authority has committed; there will be regular performances along with their popular dishes and it will continue every Thursday and Friday at weekly basis.

Drama serial 'Swapnachura' to be aired on Banglavision at 9:45pm tonight. Fazlul Haque Akash has scripted and directed the drama serial. Srabonti, Mir Sabbir, Sumaiya Shimu, Anisur Rahman Milon, Dr Ezazul Islam, among others, performed in the serial.

Story of Swapnachura:

The story of the drama is based on lifestyles of some members of the middle and higher-class families. Housewife Aporna is the central character of the drama. She maintains her family with her various tricks. But she is a successful member in her house. Shayan is a beautiful girl in a middle class family. She is now passing her days after breaking her relationship with Bobby. She has established a new relationship with Arefin, brother-in-law of Bobby, to take revenge against Bobby. But Bobby became anger in this regard and decided to face the matter. Story of the drama serial continues.

TV Show: Je kotha boleni keu

The 33rd episode of subject related talk show 'Je kotha boleni keu' will be aired on ATN Bangla at 11:30pm tonight. Nahid Rahman and Khaleda Ahmed have jointly directed the show. Jessica Tartila has moderated the programme. In the show, invited guests discuss on various issues and give their hidden stories, which do not mentioned earlier to the viewers.

Women in Politics and Good Governance tonight

The seventh episode of the TV serial titled, "Women in politics and good governance" will be aired on ATN Bangla at 6:20 pm tonight. This episode will focus on capacity building of newly elected women MPs, so that they can have profound impact in up-coming parliament. What types of trainings will make them more effective, whether media orientation will assist them etc. will be discuss in this program.

Sabina Bari Lucky is the director of this program and Shamim Reza will moderate the show. Drama serial 'Priyodarshini' to be aired on Rtv at 10:00pm tonight. Pranab Bhatta has written the story of the drama, while Nazrul Islam and Arun Chowdhury have jointly scripted and directed the drama serial.

Dilara Zaman, Suborna Mustafa, Tazin Ahmed, Amirul Islam, Sharmily Ahmed, Apurbo, Azizul Hakim, Golam Farida Chhanda, Chumky, among others, performed in the serial.

Story of Priyodarshini:

Story of the drama serial is based on the lifestyle, activities of women. Women's feelings, emotional values, needs, joys, pains and other matters were reflected in the drama serials. Of these women, someone is mother, someone is sister, someone is bride or some other is girlfriend. In one hand, mother is searching her daughter, on the other hand daughter found her lover and established a new life. Besides, conflicts between husband and wife are found in the drama serial.

Kismat Konnection goes to Oscar library

We still are some time away from the Oscars, but, India is surely making its presence felt at the Oscar library already, as most of the films that were released recently, have found their way to the Oscar library! The last few weeks had seen the likes of the scripts of Rock On, Sarkar Raj, Heroes being invited to be a part of this prestigious library.

The latest one to join the gang is the Shahid-Vidya starrer smash hit film Kismat Konnection. Apparently, the Library of Motion Pictures of Arts and Sciences (which is better known as the Oscars library) had expressed interest in acquiring a copy of the screenplay of Kismat Konnection for the permanent core collection. The scripts in their collection are made accessible for research purposes only; students, filmmakers, writers and actors are among their regular patrons. -Agency
