India has achieved enormous reputation in the Software Development field in the whole universe and earning yearly billion to billion dollars by exporting software to the developed countries, worldwide. Bangladesh has the potentiality in this field and is also earning more than millions of dollar through some of the Software Developing Organizations. But to get the benefit of its prospective opportunity to a great extent we need to give best effort and develop software with international standard to ensure the existence in the international competitive market.

The prime reason for the expansion of Indian Software Development Companies in the export sector is the skill and knowledge which results in quality software. Bangladesh needs to be more conscious in this aspect and have to work according to the plan.

The Quality Testing is a very important fact in the development of Software. There are so many features in Software Testing other than just Debugging & Error Correction. Software Testing is important to enrich the quality of the software and increase the utility to make it incompatible.

In every developed country, Software is given to the market only when the quality and standard is confirmed by the experienced software tester. The local Software Companies need to concentrate on this issue and have to take steps to survive in the world market.

Certified Software Testers are appointed in the developed world and works for its standardization. At present, International Software Testing Qualification Board is working as an Awarding Body and certifying the Software Tester as Software Tester Engineer. The ISTQB at Brussels, Belgium has been awarding certificate as,

ISTQB Certified Foundation Level

ISTQB Certified Advanced Level

Certified Tester Expert Level

These qualifications are recognized worldwide for a longtime. There are millions of Software Testing Professionals who are working worldwide and even in India; more than 4000 Certified Software Professionals are working. But it's a matter of great disgrace that, in Bangladesh we have not a single certified software professional in the software development field.

Recently, ISTQB has achieved Global Standard in the Certification of Software Testing. The Chief of Indian Testing Board, Mr. Vipul Coacher has expressed that, in the recruitment of Software Tester, ISTQB Certification has been set as pre-requisite who wants develop career as the Software Tester and given the highest priorities to the ISTQB certification. The buyer of Indian Software in the International Market also advise the Indian Software Development Companies to test their purchased software with ISTQB certified software tester which is increasing the demand for software professionals day by day.

As India if the Software Development Companies of our country can recruit Software Testing Engineer and tests the exported software by the certified software tester, then it will increase the market and acceptance in the international software market. Our export will increase as well.

In the year 2006, a German business delegation, lead by the Foreign Minister visited Bangladesh. Professor Dr. Barnard Hindall, one of the founders of Software Testing Board was also present in that delegation team. The German Delegation Team had a meeting with the Bangladeshi Delegation, which was consisted of the distinct Industrialist and Business personalities of the country. Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, the former Chairman of Bangladesh Computer Society and Daffodil Computers Ltd. was present at the occasion. During the time Professor Hindall urge that we need to start Software Testing System to develop the Quality of Software and get the international recognition & reputation. To do so, Bangladesh needs to be the member of the International Software Testing Qualification Board. Mr. Md Sabur Khan, the renowned ICT personality of the country realizing the importance took the first initiative and assigned Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, the Executive Director of Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT) to take initiative to become the member of this International Organization. Thus, Bangladesh Software Testing Board was formed which was possible for the sincere effort taken by Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman. In the year 2006, Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman being the member of Bangladesh Software Quality Testing Board took part in the International General Conference of International Software Quality Testing Board (ISTQB) which held at Orlando in Florida, USA and formally proposed ISTQB to include Bangladesh as the member of the Board. In response to his proposal ISTQB formally honored Bangladesh as the 28th Member and working formally in this sector. Today, 42 countries are the members of the Board.

International Software Quality Institute (ISQI) is the founder organization of ISTQB. ISQI is involved in different types of work related with Software Quality Standard. Software quality development, arranging effective training for the developers & testers, awarding to the testers according to their skills, making relations & keeping contacts with different software industries & academies through arranging seminars & conferences are among the activities which has been performed by the institute. In every year, ISQI organizes Conference on Software Engineering. Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman participated in the conferences during the year 2006-2008 and also he chaired in some of the sessions. Recently an agreement has been signed between ISQI and Daffodil International University.

Recently, Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, the Chairperson of BSTB took part in the general meeting of ISTQB in Delhi. During the visiting time, a bilateral agreement was signed with Mr. Vipul Coacher, the president of Indian Software Testing Board. According to the agreement, Mr. Vipul Coacher will conduct a four days long training session on Software Testing Engineering from January 28th to 31th, 2009. This is the first ever in Bangladesh, where an international standard training course is going to be initiated. Mr. Vipul Coacher has completed his MSc Degree in Computer Science from India's renowned Kharagpur IT Training Institute. He is internally very prominent software quality analyst and participated in International Conferences as the Keynote Speaker.

To develop the home Software Industry with international standard this initiative has been taken. It is expected that, the software professionals who are working in different software industries of the country can take part in the course to develop their expertise in the field.

The participants of the training program will get the status of Software Testing Engineer which will increase the acceptance of our developed software in the international market. About 20/25 participants will get the opportunity to attend the course.
