Poor quality of teacher training

Quality secondary school teachers are trained by the 14 public Teachers Training Colleges across the country through B.Ed degree. Earlier it was a 10 Months programme. Considering quality and vast curriculum, this course has been extended. Trainees learn a lot of teaching techniques and relevant issues during this course.

But the same course is being offered in the distance mode by the Open University from last year and you can complete it in one year attending the tutorials once a week. Is it fair, considering a year regular course?

Without attending any class, you can get B.Ed. degree from 89 Private TT colleges and even from private universities!

That getting a B.Ed. Degree is no much more easier from private/open education system. We think it only creating differences in the quality of education. It must not be allowed to remain so.
