Maulana Salahuddin new Khatib of Baitul Mukarram Mosque Staff Reporter Prof Maulana Mohammad Salahuddin, present Khatib of Gausul Azam Jame Mosque, Dhaka and former Vice Chancellor of Dhaka Alia Madrasha, has been appointed Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque yesterday. The post fell vacant at the death of Maulana Obaidul Haque, the then Khatib of the mosque, in October 2007. In absence of Maulana Obaidul Haque, Muftee Maulana Nuruddin, Senior Pesh Imam, had been conducting the Juma prayer as acting Khatib of the mosque.
