Two siblings were stabbed to death by miscreants near Sonahata bazaar in Dhunat upazila yesterday and Wednesday night.

The deceased were identified as Lal Mia Paikar, 45, and Kalachand Paikar, 40, sons of Mujibar Rahman of Shiali Majbari village in same upazila.

Police said several miscreants intercepted two brothers and hit them with sharp weapons while they were returning home from the bazaar at about 8pm Wednesday.

Lal Mia died on the spot while his younger brother Kalachand was injured critically in the attack.

The injured was admitted to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where he died at about 8am yesterday.

Dhunat thana police said two brothers came under attack due to family feud.

However, Dhunat thana Awami League president TIM Nurunnabi Tareq claimed that the two victims were union committee leaders of the party.
